Samira Khalil

Samira Khalil is a Syrian political and human rights activist from Homs. She was arrested and detained for four years from 1987-1991 because her active opposition.

In December 2013, Samira and three of her fellow activists were abducted from their office in Douma, a suburb of Damascus. The group, named Douma 4, are still missing till today.

Samira was awarded the Petra Kelly Prize by the Heinrich Böll Foundation in 2014 for her work at the Center for Documentation of Violations in Syria.
